I am very pleased to say that round 1 for rightist art is now closed. At this time, begin to evaluate each post and rank them from 1st to 4th. Voting begins today and will end on Sunday, September 16th at midnight. On the 17th, we will announce the winner and adjust global rankings. The winning entry will be hosted on a new blog.
Additionally, for those who would like to continue working in the Rightist Art research team, feel free to offer suggestions for the next round. As examples: the nihilistic poetry of Gottfried Benn, the Aeneid of Virgil, or the film "Munchhausen."

1st: Napoleonoff: A very impressive essay which very thoroughly covered many aspects of Feherlofia. Not simply descriptive, but emotionally impactful and polished. 2nd: Westernman. His 12 minute video on The Tree of Life was well produced and conveyed important aesthetic and analytical information to highlight the duality of Grace and Nature. The use of the original soundtrack, complemented by visual effects, created a lasting impression. 3rd: Vennyflennard. Import/Export. Venny chose a rather depressing and bleak film but put great effort into extracting its critique of capitalism. However, Ulrich Seidl's films "Paradise: Faith" or "Paradise: Love" make me question any rightist intentions on the part of the director, having seemingly turned sharply away from an aspiring priesthood. We can also see Seidl's contribution to the Austrian version of "Er ist wieder da," which uncovers Nazi attitudes in Austria as horrifying. Import/Export seems to be in the vein of "The Condition of the Working Class in England" by Friedrich Engels or "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair -- it is a critique of a flawed system without necessarily offering rightist answers. If I were a leftist, I would not feel challenged by this film, but instead re-double my commitment to anti-colonialism, education, anti-"toxic-masculinity", social welfare, and anti-poverty, but as a socialist or neo-liberal or libertarian rather than as a traditionalist. Additionally, the lack of English subtitles in the link provided decreased the accessibility of the film itself. 4th: Slotahimself. His 40 minute video on Feherlofia was an interesting first attempt at a multi-media approach. This "feminine" (as in, the pure creative force) stream of consciousness style can be productive if it is combined with the "masculine" (pure destructive force) of cutting and editing out pauses or repetition. The repetition of uncertainty or confusion (which could be cut out in an edited version) detracted from several useful comments highlighting the esoteric nature of the film.

1. Napoleoff - Sheer effort and sleek presentation, every point made solidified what I agreed with or pointed out things I didn't consider so well that I couldn't help but like it. 2. westernman - You did what I wanted to do and just did it better, I tried doing stream-of-consciousness and realized that it just ended up sounding indecisive and weak and you did you a better presentation. 3. Vennyflennard - I could see the correlations you were drawing but a lot of the dialogue and presented ideas can seemingly be amorphous to either side of the aisle. I liked your takes though. 4. admin - only last for brevity, which can be good but I really liked the things you pointed out and was disappointed it wasn't threaded with a few more things

1st: westernman - Great presentation of 'Tree of Life' and beautiful video reading with visuals and music to go with it. Gave me a personal epiphany that pure white nationalism is a "nature" oriented path which is Nietzschean and fundamentally opposed to the path of "grace". It is clear to me that fully-embracing the "will to power" at the expense, or to the complete exclusion, of grace closes off an infinite universe of possibilities, but I should probably elaborate on this elsewhere.
2nd: vennyflennard - This for me has to come second due to the effort, feeling and insight you clearly put into it, and might potentially have come first if (a) I didn't suspect that 'Import/Export' isn't necessarily a rightist film (as pointed out above), and (b) the film had been presented with English subtitles.
3rd: Admin/Ken - A good video presentation and solid written analysis of 'Fehérlófia' and some of the archetypes and themes in the film, along with some context about the time in which the film was made and a potentially-future-instructive juxtaposition of dominant Hollywood/Paris/Berlin currents in the movie industry with films which contradict these currents. Ranking suffered because of brevity.
4th: slotahimself - You clearly had a lot of things to say about religious/perennial themes in 'Fehérlófia' and your 40-minute presentation was much appreciated, but its unpolished stream-of-consciousness hesitating (what Ken called 'feminine') nature and the sense that you had the insight to say so much more than you did means I have to give it a lower ranking than the other presentations.

Additionally, for those who would like to continue working in the Rightist Art research team, feel free to offer suggestions for the next round. As examples: the nihilistic poetry of Gottfried Benn, the Aeneid of Virgil, or the film "Munchhausen." I think I can get a fully-subtitled version of Marcell Jankovics' The Tragedy of Man like you were trying to get so I would like to try doing that to round out my study of his work and possibly create something akin to a nice little diptych about these two works of his. I don't know how this fits in with the next round or where I could post it though.
diptychnoun 1. a pair of hinged wooden tablets with waxed surfaces for writing 2. a painting or carving on two panels, usually hinged like a book
If I think of some general suggestions for the next round I will put them in a new post below this one.

I would suggest something akin to cosmic horror, or if you want to be specific maybe H.P Lovecraft. A lot of people the last few years have been saying that cosmic horror is essentially reactionary at its core. I'd argue that it is at least, it forces the farce to confront the primordial and thus be shattered by the reality.

This is a good suggestion, in some of his letters his thoughts resemble ethno-nationalist sentiments, his thoughts on the "Yellow Peril, etc." Well worth exploring further relevant themes in his actual work.
