Colloquium Round 2
The Deepright Forum is dedicated to the development of an online academy from a Perennialist perspective.
We seek to provide an engine of integration, drawing particularly on intellectual developments from the right, that allows for the construction of a unified and coherent conservative worldview. Our structure is meritocratic and we reward our most talented researchers and content producers with influence over the form and trajectory of project.
The objective of Colloquium Round 2 will be to agree on the topic of a new research project. Each participant will specify a question or an area of interest and then explain why their chosen area of interest deserves a research project being created to look into it. The winner of this round will have the opportunity to direct a research team to investigate the subject they laid out in their winning post.
Colloquium submissions will be under 1000 words in length. Posts which exceed this length will have points deducted.
The challenge here is not only to come up with a useful and interesting subject for research but also to put your argument for it in a cogent way and in concise language. This word limit should encourage you to distil your argument to its essentials by eliminating superfluous language and unnecessary repetition and giving you a better feel for how to convey your ideas such as to increase the density of content in your writing. If many people do this it will establish a higher standard of writing across the whole forum.
There are many sources of inspiration around us. Examples of them and how we could apply them to create a new research project include:
Slotahimself could propose a new research team to look deeper into the questions that he asked in this intriguing post about the dynamics of social decay:

Flimp could propose deeper research by further developing his important post about stereotyping:

You could also choose a quotation or proverb and develop it from there. For example, I could take inspiration from these words of Confucius which I used in my Organization Round 1 post: "The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their proper name. If names be not correct, language is not in accordance with the truth of things. If language be not in accordance with the truth of things, affairs cannot be conducted successfully. When affairs cannot be conducted successfully, propriety will not flourish."

If you look at the replies on that thread you will see examples of people making creative connections based on the Confucius quote I used in my post. Every one of these connections could be the seed of a research project. There's no reason why not.
Here's Slota's reply:

Here's Aarvoll's reply:

Both of these posts could be developed into a research project or even an entire discipline because the ramifications which they suggest are endless. Research into these areas could yield important insights that would strengthen our cause.
The above are only examples of the kinds of submissions you can make in the Colloquium. If you think of anything else to inspire (a poem, a work of fiction or non-fiction, a philosophical concept, a current meme such as the NPC meme, a tangential aspect of one of the Rightist Art rounds that you found interesting and would like to develop further) you then use that.
Rules for the Round

Anyone who wants to submit an idea for the Colloquium can do so before the end of January 2019. Submissions will not be accepted on or after 00:00 on February 1st. Voting will be held in the days thereafter. If there are 3 or more submissions then voting will be open only to participants. If there are only 2 submissions then voting will be open not only to said participants but to anyone else in the top 10 ranked users on the forum. If there is one submission that person will be able to submit a yes/no vote to non-participants, again drawn from the 10 top-ranked forum users, which will determine whether a new research team is created to look into the subject of their post or not.
This is an opportunity to have other people contribute to research into your area of interest as long as they find it interesting/useful.
Please leave a reply below saying whether you intend to take part in Colloquium Round 2, and what date you plan to post your contribution.
You can select any date between December 28th 2018 and January 31st 2019.
